United Nations Environment Programme
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), founded in 1972, leads global efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. UNEP collaborates with countries worldwide to address critical challenges like climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, striving to create cleaner, healthier, and more resilient communities. By guiding policies, advancing research and building partnerships, UNEP empowers nations and individuals to make meaningful, lasting changes that safeguard our planet for future generations. In this committee, delegates will strive to balance the priorities of member countries, environmental organizations, and communities affected by environmental issues and work to create resolutions that advance sustainable development, safeguard natural resources, and amplify UNEP’s global influence in building a healthier planet.

Aaliya Masood, Co-Chair
Aaliya is an outgoing, adventure-loving advocate who loves bringing people together over big ideas about our environment. She’s all about tackling global issues, whether that’s diving into sustainability debates or sharing stories that’ll make you think (and hopefully laugh a bit!). This year at PRISMUN, Aaliya’s here to keep things fun and casual while bringing fresh perspectives to the table. When she’s not in a debate, you’ll find her lost in a good book, messing around with the latest tech, or jumping into any activity that promises a good time and a great cause. She’s all about good vibes and making connections, so don’t be shy—come say hi!
